  • OECD adopts a set of updated and corrected Test Guidelines for chemicals safety

    On 26 June, OECD adopted a set of updated and corrected Test Guidelines for chemicals safety testing to keep pace with scientific progress for OECD members and Mutual Acceptance of Data (MAD) adhering countries. Eight Test Guidelines have been updated (TG 437, TG 458, TG 488, TG 491) and corrected (TG 405, TG 439, TG 442C et TG 471).

  • Survey on protected elements in Test Guidelines

    Deadline: 31 August 2020. The Test Guidelines Programme regularly receives proposals for new and innovative test methods for chemical safety testing. These methods may contain elements protected by intellectual property. The OECD wishes to collect feedback to develop a policy to deal with confidentiality claims so that it remains an attractive programme for innovative methods, while ensuring that developers identify other means to protect their assets.

    30 April 2020 | The OECD Test Guidelines Programme is increasingly integrating innovative methodologies for the safety testing of chemicals into regulatory standards. Ensuring transparency, broad and and fair access to these innovative methods are important principles. Recently, the OECD published Guiding Principles for Good Licensing Practices of protected elements in Test Guidelines.
